Joseph Cavasinni

Biography

             Joe is a no-nonsense, hardworking lawyer.  He graduated with honors in 1987 from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.  Thereafter,  he worked 8 years in the road and bridge construction industry including work as a field superintendent for a heavy highway contractor and owner of a consulting firm specializing in road and bridge restoration applications.  In 1995, he graduated cum laude from the Capital University Law School (while working full time) where he made Law Review and was ranked in the top 10% of his class.
             Over the last 24 years,  Joe's practice has exclusively been devoted to Construction Law with an emphasis in construction litigation. He has represented owners, design professionals, contractors/subcontractors and developers in a variety of complex, highly technical claims, many of which involved significant exposure. He was recognized as Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for Construction Law in Cleveland in 2019, has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in Construction Law from 2007 through 2020 and honored as a Super Lawyer in Ohio in Construction Litigation from 2011 through 2020.  Joe is also a member of the American Arbitration Association's National Panel of Arbitrators for Construction Disputes.  He has also served as a mediator on a number of design/construction matters, using his engineering and construction background, construction law expertise and frank and direct approach to successfully resolve many of these claims.  He has also authored and presented at a number of continuing education seminars for attorneys and design/construction professionals.  Joe recently relocated to Colorado after practicing in Ohio the last 24 years.
             In his spare time, Joe loves anything to do with the outdoors, including, hiking, skiing, camping, and cycling.  He is also an avid runner, qualifying for, and completing, the Boston Marathon from 2012 through 2019.
