Eleni Petros is a Senior Vice President at Marsh, and is the Commercial Crime and Employment Practices Liability practice leader. Eleni has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She is at the forefront of advising Marsh’s clients on the insurance and risk implications of the UK’s compulsory gender pay gap reporting regulations, such as reputational damage and issues with attracting talent. Eleni’s experience includes working with boards of directors and insurance risk managers to advise on directors & officers liability, employment practices liability, pension trustee liability and commercial crime insurance issues and in particular, the impact of legal and regulatory developments on policy coverage. Eleni also acts as a lead wording expert, which includes drafting and negotiating bespoke management liability and commercial crime policy wordings. Eleni is a regular contributor to Marsh Insights – Marsh’s online portal for thought leadership pieces – as well as a regular speaker at client and industry conferences on topical issues concerning management liability and crime risk. Prior to joining Marsh, Eleni was the financial lines legal counsel at AIG in London for several years, acting as the legal adviser and coverage expert, where she provided advice and training to underwriters on various issues affecting policy coverage and interpretation, as well as negotiating bespoke policy wordings. Eleni was also responsible for drafting the AIG Corporateguard suite of financial lines products, including directors & officers liability, employment practices liability, and pension trustee liability. Before moving to London, Eleni worked in legal private practice in Australia, acting in many high profile, complex directors and officers disputes, as well as a range of other matters including professional indemnity, director and board matters and regulatory compliance matters.
