Jeff Mokotoff has a broad employment law practice and routinely counsels clients on a myriad of employment issues, drafts and reviews employment, arbitration and noncompete agreements, conducts management training, and litigates and tries employment cases, both in court and in arbitration.
Before rejoining FordHarrison in January 2017, after a 16-year career with the firm from 1996-2012, Jeff held the position of Chief Administrative Officer and Counsel for Turner Enterprises, Inc. (TEI), Ted Turner’s private company that oversees all of Mr. Turner’s business interests. As Chief Administrative Officer, Jeff managed and oversaw all legal, administrative and employment aspects of Mr. Turner’s business interests, to include over 2,000,000 acres of land, numerous bison ranches and several hospitality venues.
In 2015, Jeff founded and developed Ted Turner Expeditions, a hospitality company that affords the public an opportunity to visit and explore over 1,000,000 acres of Mr. Turner's landholdings. While at TEI, Jeff also served as employment counsel for Ted’s Montana Grill, a restaurant chain owned by Mr. Turner with 46 restaurants in 18 different states.
Jeff has extensive experience in representing clients concerning cases involving non-compete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, employment/business torts, and wage and hour litigation. During law school, Jeff was the Executive Notes and Comments Editor of the Emory International Law Review.
Jeff has served as lead counsel in several multi-state wage/hour class and collective actions, as lead counsel in a defense verdict win at trial defending against a race discrimination and retaliation lawsuit, and as lead co-counsel in a five year multi-million dollar trade secret litigation, where after a two-week trial, the firm obtained a directed verdict in favor of the defendant on all damage claims.
