Biography

Dr. Steven Moskowitz is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation with clinical expertise in complex musculoskeletal and neurologic rehabilitation including spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and chronic pain. He provides overall medical supervision for Paradigm's pain program.
After beginning his clinical practice in 1989, he worked at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA for 16 years, New England Rehabilitation Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA and the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, MA. He has led efforts in a variety of case management models including catastrophic case management, high-risk acute care case management and workers’ compensation.
His experience in healthcare administration and management began with his role as associate chief medical officer of the former Advantage Health Corporation where he led the development of unique programs for the management of pain disorders including a primary-care based, multi-site disease management program for low back pain and the development of a network of outpatient rehabilitation facilities and comprehensive rehabilitation programs. In addition, he developed a utilization management model for a Massachusetts managed care company and developed outpatient utilization review guidelines for a capitated physical therapy network in Connecticut.
A consultant for medical staff peer review redesign for The Greeley Company from 2003 to 2006, Dr. Moskowitz has served on a number of committees, including the Greater Boston Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association, the Spinal Cord Injury Standards Committee of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and the Medical Advisory Committee of the New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Pain Society. He also has experience as a workers’ compensation utilization review physician.
