Biography

Allen R. Wolff is a shareholder in Anderson Kill's New York office.  Mr. Wolff's practice concentrates in construction litigation, insurance recovery, and the nexus between the two, as well as in complex commercial litigation.  Mr. Wolff is also a member of Anderson Kill's Hospitality Industry, Banking and Lending and Regulated Products groups.

Mr. Wolff advises policyholders on issues relating to coverage, exclusions, subrogation, defense, indemnity and bad faith in property, casualty, fiduciary liability, and Directors & Officers liability insurance matters.  He represents property owners, developers, contractors and subcontractors, retailers, financial institutions, hospitality businesses, condominium associations and tenants' associations on a full range of property, construction and engineering defect, contract and insurance coverage disputes.  He has also litigated a wide array of commercial, employment and intellectual property matters.

Since 2011, Mr. Wolff has been one of a small number of New York attorneys selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Fellowship selection is by invitation only and is based on proven effectiveness and accomplishment in trial and appellate practice and a superior ethical reputation.  Since 2012, he has been recognized by Super Lawyers for Insurance Coverage.  He is also rated "AV®Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated,” the top rating, by his peers as listed in Martindale Hubbell.  Mr. Wolff is a frequent lecturer on Federal practice and procedure, complex construction law issues, and insurance coverage.  Mr. Wolff has been a member of Hospitality Law360's editorial advisor board. Before becoming a lawyer, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army, including three years as a paratrooper.  He subsequently served in the Army Reserve, was promoted to full Colonel and graduated from the Army's senior leadership program at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, PA, where he earned a Master's degree in Strategic Studies.
