Tracy Ryan

Biography

Tracy Ryan is Chief Claims Officer and Executive Vice President of Commercial Insurance at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

She is currently responsible for all claims operations and leads 3,500 dedicated Claims employees who handle 850,000 new claims each year for Liberty Mutual customers.
Prior to this role, Ms. Ryan was Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer for Liberty Mutual, Commercial Insurance, where she established key objectives and strategies for managing the growth and profitability of the commercial product lines.

A Liberty Mutual employee for more than 25 years, Ms. Ryan has held various roles, including Vice President and Chief Actuary of Liberty Mutual’s Middle Market, Vice President and General Manager of the UPS Dedicated Unit within National Insurance, and she has served in numerous actuarial capacities.   

Earlier this year, Ms. Ryan was the Chair for the Board of Directors for the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), and was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI). 

Ms. Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Fairfield University and a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Colorado. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
