Biography

Mr. Banks is a Senior Construction Risk Control Consultant for Travelers Insurance, based out of their Braintree, Massachusetts office. He has worked in the insurance risk management field for the past 13 years in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He holds a B.S. in Safety Studies and a M.S. in Safety and Occupational Health Applied Science, both from Keene State College in Keene, NH. Prior to joining Travelers construction team he worked for a regional insurance carrier as a Loss Prevention Consultant, managing a diverse group of commercial, construction, and maritime industry clients. His current responsibilities include risk assessment and safety management evaluations, incident investigations, and providing technical support to Travelers loss sensitive and guaranteed cost accounts. Along with these duties he also performs technical and leadership training for both commercial and construction clients across the Northeast. Mr. Banks is the national lead for the Construction Post Injury Management (PIM) team and Construction Ergonomics group. He is also a Regional Specialist Consultant (RSC) in Travelers Supervisor Leadership Development Workshop (SLDW) training. Additionally, he acts as a technical trainer for Travelers Crisis Management, Accident Analysis, and Contractual Risk Transfer programs.
 
Mr. Banks earned the Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) designation in 2006 and is currently pursuing the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation. He is an active member in several regional safety organizations and associations including the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Granite State and Greater Boston Chapters, and the Safety Association of Rhode Island. He has spoken at both regional and local safety conferences on the topics of Crisis Management for Construction, Supervisor Safety Leadership Development, and Wearable Technology.
