Biography

Jimmy is CEO for the nChain Group of companies – the global leader in research and development of blockchain technologies – which is building one of the world’s largest blockchain patent portfolios.  nChain’s mission is to enable worldwide adoption and enterprise-level usage of the Bitcoin network, focusing on Bitcoin Cash as the true Bitcoin. Jimmy works closely with nChain’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Craig Wright, who is one of the most prominent names and the earliest minds working with Bitcoin. nChain Group has over 60 world-class scientific research, engineering and other professionals primarily based in London, United Kingdom and Vancouver, Canada.
 
Jimmy joined nChain after a 21-year career as an intellectual property and digital technology lawyer, during which he was as partner at three major U.S. law firms, most recently at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. Having quickly become a prominent voice in the cryptocurrency world, Jimmy was listed in January 2018 by SFOX as one of “The Bitcoin Cash People, Platforms, Wallets and Miners You Need to Know.”
 
With a history of excelling early, Jimmy graduated college at age 19 and law school at age 22. In 2008, Lawdragon named him (at only age 36) one of the “500 Leading Lawyers in America”; he was recognized by the Century City Bar Association as “Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year” (2011). A leader in the IP and technology communities, Jimmy was formerly Chair of the State Bar of California’s Intellectual Property Law section, and co-chaired the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s IP, Internet and New Media section. A strong diversity advocate, he also co-chaired the California Minority Counsel Program and was inducted into its “Diversity Leader Hall of Fame” (2015); Diversity MBA Magazine named him a “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leader” (2015).
