Jennifer Misetich is a trial lawyer and civil litigator with a special emphasis in labor and employment law. She has experience in handling litigation cases in both state and federal court as well the court of appeals and arbitrations. She routinely counsels employers on a broad range of employment matters, including preparing and updating employee handbooks, developing policies and procedures, and handling termination of employees. Her article on California's paid sick leave law was published in Los Angeles Lawyer in September 2015, entitled "A New California Law Mandates Paid Sick Leave for Nearly All Employees."
Her legal studies were distinguished by high grades in Legal Drafting, Trial Advocacy, Business Planning and Venture Capital Financing, and Remedies. She had the honor of serving as Chief Note and Comment Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review and clerked for the Honorable Christina A. Snyder in the United States District Court. She also authored portions of a published legal treatise on California community property law. In addition to these activities, she served as an Office of Admissions Student Host, Academic Support Program Mentor, and Income Tax Assistance Program Volunteer. During her second and third years of law school, she gained significant legal experience working for a civil litigation firm in Redondo Beach, California.
Prior to law school, Jennifer attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Anthropology. She was among the top ranked students in her class at UCLA, graduating summa cum laude. She was on the Dean's list every quarter, received College and Departmental Honors, and was recognized for Excellence in Research for her senior thesis.
Aside from practicing law, Jennifer enjoys a good game of poker, musical theater, discovering and trying out new recipes, and traveling.
