Biography

Mike Cummings is a Principal Consultant with Aon Inpoint Claims Practice. The Aon Inpoint Claims team has pioneered the framework, methods and tools for claims and quality program diagnostics, and has experience working with over 70 P&C carriers globally. In addition to conducting claims operational assessments, our team is deeply experienced in driving end-to-end claims transformation including program management, process redesign, organizational restructuring, vendor selection, and technology implementation.

Mike has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry working in APD, property, casualty, WC, litigation management, claims quality improvement, operations management, technology research and implementations.
As a branch manager at Amica Mutual Insurance he managed APD, Bodily Injury, Property and Liability claims and focused on improving overall operational efficiency. Mike has since held leadership positions in consulting with multiple carriers on claims capability assessments and other optimization initiative including strategy, business transformation and technology, including package and custom claims system implementations with Guidewire and other package claims systems.  Most recently Mike has directed Inpoint’s research on InsureTech solutions for the P&C marketplace to enhance claims operations, customer service and communication.  In addition, Mike leads the development of Inpoint’s next generation quality software solution, ClaimsMonitor.X (CMX), which leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning on open claims to proactively alert supervisors when best practices are not being followed to avoid poor claims outcomes (leakage) before they occur.

Mike graduated from Syracuse University, has an MBA from Babson College and holds the AIC insurance designation.
