Biography
Matthew Weerth is Vice President of Claims Management for the Related Companies. In this role, Mr. Weerth is the head of claims for all lines of business and manages the Related Companies claims team. Since 2016, Mr. Weerth has worked out of Related's New York City offices. Mr. Weerth's current responsibilities include handling all claims arising out of the construction of Hudson Yards - the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States.
Prior to joining Related, Mr. Weerth spent time at AIG as the Staff Counsel General Liability Practice Group Leader and as Workers' Compensation Claims Counsel. From 2001- 2013 Mr. Weerth also practiced law in New York with a focus on New York Workers' Compensation Law.
Mr. Weerth holds a Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law.
Mr. Weerth will be speaking at the upcoming 2019 CLM Construction Conference in San Diego.
