Biography

Bill Minick is the national authority on how to achieve better medical outcomes, pay improved benefits and save money through injury benefit programs as an alternative to traditional workers’ compensation. As Chairman of PartnerSource, Bill works with most of the largest employers that have implemented Texas injury benefit programs, including dozens of Fortune 500 companies and their insurance brokers, TPA’s, insurers and law firms.

He has multiple law and insurance licenses and holds degrees from Abilene Christian University (BBA Finance, with highest honors), Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D.), and Southern Methodist University School of Law (Master of Laws degree in Taxation).

Beginning in 1985, Bill practiced law for nine years, including implementation of collectively bargained health, pension and unemployment programs, and compliance for qualified retirement plans.  While at Thompson & Knight, he worked with a team to develop the first ERISA-compliant injury benefit plan in 1989.  In 1994, Bill formed PartnerSource and further pioneered injury benefit design strategies and related state and federal compliance, employee communication and claims management processes and insurance products.

He has written extensively on the subject of workers’ compensation for Risk & Insurance, WorkCompCentral, WorkersCompensation.com, Insurance Thought Leadership and other national publications.  Bill has also been a featured presenter at annual meetings of the National Workers’ Compensation & Disability Conference, Workers Compensation Institute, Workers Compensation Research Institute, Risk & Insurance Management Society, National Academy of Social Insurance, Self-Insurance Institute of America and others.
