Renée Sykes, Area Director of Human Resources
Renée Sykes, Area Director of Human Resources at Sage Hospitality, is a true expert in the field, bringing over 27 years of Human Resources and Hospitality experience to the industry. During her undergraduate studies, Renée worked as a hotel operations intern with Hyatt Hotels in Hilton Head, SC and Atlanta, GA. Upon graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Maryland, a move to Chicago gave her the opportunity to complete Hyatt’s Management Training Program, where she began her HR career as the Recruiting & Benefits/Safety Manager at the Park Hyatt Chicago.
She continued to gain experience in HR with positions at Hyatt Hotels, Morton’s The Steakhouse and Coca-Cola Enterprises, supporting the employee/labor relations, training and safety. In 2012, Renée joined the HR team at Sage Hospitality and just recently was promoted to Area HR Director, overseeing the HR Department at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago and other Sage managed hotels in the Chicagoland area.
A true testament to her experience, Renée has received the Restaurant Center Office Support Person of the Year three times, leadership awards with Sage and served on various industry boards, most recently as a fellow with CLM.
