Dawn Hays

Biography

Dawn Hays is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa and a Workers Compensation Claims Supervisor with UFG Insurance in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Dawn’s professional designations include Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Society of Claim Law Associates and Associate in Claims.
Dawn’s career path started in advertising.  What was expected to be a temporary detour into the field of insurance has resulted in a fulfilling 29-year journey of personal and professional development. 
Dawn’s most recent focus has been on leadership through coaching and mentoring advocacy in workers compensation claims. Her development strategy is to recognize potential in individuals and provide opportunity support to team members building their careers.
Dawn and her husband live in Iowa City. Their daughter is a licensed mental health counselor in private practice.  The family has a lot of fun with friends around the fire pit & attending live music events together.
Dawn has been a speaker at local and national continuing education events as a subject matter expert on claims handling best practices, investigation, negotiation, subrogation and alternative dispute resolution.  Dawn is energized by learning opportunities which further the evolution of workers compensation claims professionalism.
