Cindi Thurston

Biography

Cynthia K. Thurston (Cindi) grew up in northern Wisconsin.  She attended college at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota graduating in 1990.  She worked for State Farm Insurance Company as a workers’ compensation and liability claims adjuster and eventually a claims supervisor.  She graduated from William Mitchell law school in 1995 and joined the McCollum Law Firm on October 30, 1995.  In September of 1997, she opened the firm’s satellite office in Rice Lake, Wisconsin where she currently practices.  In January of 2001, she became a shareholder in the firm and currently serves on the firm's management committee.

Cindi is a member of the  Supreme Court of the United States, American Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, and the State Bar of Wisconsin.  She is also licensed to practice in Federal Courts in Wisconsin and Minnesota.  She represents many different insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers and businesses. In 2010 she was selected to be a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.  She completed the Litigation Management Institute at Columbia Law School in October 2014.  In May 2015 she was sworn in as a member of the Supreme Court of the United States and had the privilege of appearing before all nine members of the court for the swearing in ceremony.

Cindi and her husband, Paul, reside in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.  Their children attend school at University of Wisconsin -Madison and Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA.  She is an active member of the Rice Lake Rotary Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Her favorite activites are listening to her daughter sing, watching musicals, following women's college soccer and volleyball, going to workout class with her husband, and playing with her dogs.
