Cari Ellenberger

Biography

Cari Ellenberger is the Director, Claims Governance and Reporting Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty ®. In this role, she oversees the Claims Business Analyst, Legal Bill Review unit and as the Compliance team. Previously, she served as the Claims Legal Specialist for AGCS. As Legal Specialist, she was charged with management of extra-contractual cases from a Claims perspective, including liaising with General Counsel's office and working with Claims Leadership and defense counsel on litigation strategy. She has also been responsible for creating and conducting training for adjusters all over the country on "good faith" claims handling and issues that arise during the handling of a claim that are frequently the focus of bad faith allegations. In her current role at Allianz, she also oversees Claims Handling Guidelines, Claims Governance, Litigation Management in general and works with General Counsel on consumer complaints.  
 
Cari has been in the insurance industry for 19 years since her graduation from Chapman University School of Law. Prior to coming to Allianz, Cari managed a team at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company that worked with General Counsel’s office to oversee extra-contractual matters for all lines of business. She has also handled Lawyer's Professional Liability Claims for both CNA and Fireman's Fund.
