Biography

Risk Management: In February 2017, Aaron transitioned his legal career to risk management when he joined Turner Construction Company to head its NY Risk Management Team. Aaron is responsible for managing all of Turner’s risk management, insurance, claim, and loss control programs for the NY Business Unit’s construction activities.

Aaron leads Turner’s NY Risk Management Team in its coordination with the NY Business Development Team and Corporate Risk Management Team when bidding jobs with the following insurance products: Wrap (CCIP/OCIP) and Corporate insurance programs; Builder’s Risk; SDI; Pollution; Professional; Railroad Liability; and Contractors Equipment Plant, Property, and Equipment.

Daily interaction with the NY Business Unit’s Senior Leadership. Coordinate complex claims with Turner’s Operations Teams, Risk Management Teams, Safety Teams, and Legal Department, various insurance carriers, and legal counsel designed to aggressively manage reserves and resolve claims.

Aaron obtained his Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist certification in 2018.

Legal: Prior to joining Turner, Aaron was a Partner at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker. He managed complex, high-exposure construction, transportation, and premises liability matters involving personal injury and property damage claims in NY State and Federal Courts. Coordinated initial case fact investigation and developed early case analysis, valuation, and resolution strategies. Emphasized client communication, adhered to client guidelines, employed proper case staffing, development of realistic case budgeting, obtained leverage points for settlement negotiations, explored ADR opportunities, and conducted trials.

Aaron aggressively defended complex construction lawsuits brought under the NY Labor Law. Managed the defense of clients with construction and environmental related exposures. Conducted crisis responses. Advised on guidelines, procedures, and safety programs to assist clients in complying with the Labor Law, New York State Industrial Code, OSHA, and other administrative codes. Aaron also managed a national transportation account with a cost effective, result oriented case handling approach.
