Biography

Gianina Dimitriou is an associate with the Walnut Creek office of McDowell Shaw Garcia & Mizell. Mrs. Dimitriou’s practice primarily includes defending personal injury lawsuits and assisting insurance companies with first party claims investigations.

Prior to joining McDowell Shaw Garcia & Mizell, Mrs. Dimitriou served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Miami Dade County District Attorney’s Office in Miami, Florida. In this capacity, she prosecuted crimes and tried numerous jury trials as first-chair, obtaining extensive litigation experience, both in and out of the courtroom. Upon relocating to the Bay Area in 2012, Mrs. Dimitriou worked as an associate in a civil litigation firm, where she successfully handled many depositions, mediations, and binding arbitrations. Since joining McDowell Shaw Garcia & Mizell, Mrs. Dimitriou has additionally conducted several examinations under oath in a variety of claims contexts. 

Mrs. Dimitriou received her law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2009 with a Concentration in Advocacy. She graduated with honors from the University of Florida and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and a minor in Classical Studies. Mrs. Dimitriou is a member in good standing with the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Florida and is a member of Northern California Fraud Investigators Association (NCFIA), Western States Auto Theft Investigators Association (WSATI), International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU), and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).
