Jeff Trueman is an experienced mediator who helps parties resolve a wide variety of litigated and pre-litigated disputes. He regularly mediates in the following practice areas: catastrophic injuries, medical and nursing home negligence, wrongful death, professional malpractice, employment, real property, partnership dissolutions, and family business disputes.
He is a past Director of Dispute Resolution for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Jeff has conducted over 1,750 mediations and settlement conferences and observed numerous retired judges and senior lawyers mediate litigated disputes. He is comfortable using technology in mediation such as audio/video conferencing, texting, and other tools that increase efficiency and reduce costs. He frequently presents seminars and moderates discussions about negotiation and mediation. He also writes regular articles for the Maryland Daily Record and has authored a number of magazine and law review articles addressing the psychological and practical challenges faced by participants in mediation, asbestos case management in state courts, and best practices for quality, safe dialogue between police and community.
Jeff is a recipient of the Paul A. Dorf Alternative Dispute Resolution Memorial Award by the Bar Association of Baltimore City. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, an invitation-only group of some of the world’s preeminent commercial mediators.
