Biography

Michael Cunningham is Senior Vice President, Claims Legal at Zenith Insurance Company in Woodland Hills, California.  He is responsible for managing all claims litigation for the company nationwide.  This involves overseeing both in-house counsel as well as outside counsel.

Mike received his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1991. He graduated with highest honors from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1994. He started his legal career with the law firm of Arter & Hadden. Mike then moved in house and practiced insurance defense law; first with Nationwide Insurance, and then Infinity Insurance, before moving to Zenith.

Throughout his career, Mike has had a number of roles: practicing attorney, managing attorney, manager of Staff Counsel, and leading Casualty and Litigation departments. In each of these roles his focus has been on ensuring that insurance examiners and attorneys are working together to properly develop case strategy and prepare for trial.
