Biography

I have over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster, risk manager, third party administrator, claims manager, and branch manager. I am an insurance professional who possesses the ability to think critically, assess risk, uses sound judgment and decision making skills, and is able to influence others. Besides the usual claim investigations, I have provided consultative services including audits; direct client consultations; training and educational seminars; working with brokers and account managers in identifying claim trends, loss control and risk management issues; and minimizing risk exposures by working in a team effort towards risk avoidance, reduction, and transference. I have an extensive background handling product liability claims. I have also worked with captives, risk retention groups, and layered programs. I have worked on various corporate computer systems; established a program for clients to report environmental claims in a timely manner; wrote an environmental claims handling manual; set up spreadsheets to track Surplus Lines filings and outstanding Surplus Lines issues; handled special requests from clients; and worked on various other projects as needed. I am a frequent speaker at various insurance organizations. I am the Past President of the Chicago Northwest Suburban CPCU chapter. I’m also the past Editor of the Claims Interest Group newsletter.
