Larry Beemer Named 2023 CLM Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree

Lawrence (Larry) Beemer, vice president, casualty claims at HCC Casualty Insurance Services Inc., will be honored with the 2023 CLM Lifetime Achievement Award – sponsored by Compex Legal Services, Inc. – during the CLM Annual Conference in Tampa held March 29-31. A highly regarded presence in the claims and litigation management field for more than 40 years, Beemer is being recognized for his career accomplishments and his commitment to the industry, especially CLM
“When I think of someone who embodies CLM's values, I think of Larry Beemer. He has spent countless hours giving back to the next generation of our industry. Some of his more important roles are as co-creator of our Litigation Management Institute (LMI) and a Dean of the School of Litigation Management within Claims College. I can't begin to estimate how many careers he's positively impacted through his efforts with CLM,” says Ronna Ruppelt, CEO of CLM. “Personally, I always remember Larry as one of the first people to reach out when I began my current role. I was lucky to be part of CLM from Day One and still enjoy my time on the Advisory Board, leading and teaching within LMI and Claims College, as well as jumping in to write or co-write an article or swap ideas with co-panelists and attendees when speaking on a panel or webinar. It truly has been an amazing journey.”
Prior to HCC Casualty Insurance Services Inc., Beemer worked at IAT, QBE, Aetna, CNA, Home Insurance, Risk Enterprise Management, and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. His career spans a variety of roles giving him unique insights in many different specialties including litigation management, transportation, GL, TPA services, environmental claims, construction defect, latent injury, and entertainment claims. He has served as a chief technical officer, consultant to re-insurers, training coordinator, national accounts coordinator, litigation manager, legal auditor, claims and due diligence auditor, PMK, and expert witness.
