Scott Ammer

Vice President

ECC Insurance Brokers

Scott Ammer is speaking in the following session(s) :

Liability and Exposure of Lawyers to Claims Asserted by Third Parties Jun 21 2018 2:05PM

I started my insurance career as an Underwriter Trainee for Specialty Lines, at Philadelphia Insurance back in 2001.  I worked my way up at PHLY and was asked to join my largest retail client as a producer in 2004.  At HUB International, I led their Lawyer’s Professional book and a team of seven brokers placing business in all fifty states.  In 2007, I was asked to start up a wholesale book of Lawyers Professional by Rob Roth, a former co-worker who had been recently been promoted to Profit Center Leader at ECC Insurance Brokers.   Starting a ground-up book of business is never easy, however maintaining contacts throughout the country assisted in building the foundation of a strong practice.  With ten years now at ECC, I assist in mentoring our Broker in Training program as well as continue to strive for excellence on our team in Oak Brook, IL.  I believe in being a specialist rather than a generalist.  I try to forge strong relationships with all underwriters and not flood them with submissions that fall out of their underwriting box.  I am surrounded by specialists in all arenas of P&C and happily refer risks that are not LPL.  The success of the team is more important than the strength of any individual.  My two children are the reasons I wake up each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
