Biography
Jenny Honeycutt focuses her practice on representing construction professionals. She has been namedby South Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the field of Construction Litigation, and she has an AV Preeminent peer review rating in Construction Law, Litigation and Commercial Law. Honeycutt is well-equipped to represent any participant in the construction and development industry – builders and construction managers, contractors and subcontractors, designers and engineers, project owners and investors. She handles a wide range of matters from contract formation to payment disputes to defect litigation.
Honeycutt also handles lawsuits from discovery through trial. She is experienced in South Carolina State and Federal Courts, as well as resolving cases through alternative dispute resolution. She is certified as a circuit court mediator by the SC Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification.
Honeycutt also helps businesses work with government. She helps clients assess the impact of local, state and federal laws and administrative regulations on their companies. In 2012, she served on the board of the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas.
Prior to opening her own firm in 2013, she practiced in a large state-wide firm for eight years where she made partner. While in law school, she served as law clerk to then South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford where she researched the impact of proposed legislation on South Carolina businesses. She also interned for The Honorable Joseph F. Anderson, Jr., U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. These experiences, combined with studies at the Institute on Political Journalism at Georgetown University, have been an asset to her practice.
Honeycutt is active in the Charleston community. She is an active member of the Junior League of Charleston and regularly volunteers with her church, James Island Christian Church, as well as her children’s school, James Island Christian School. Jenny has been married to Trey Honeycutt for 14 years and has three children Rhame, Tanner and Adleigh.
