Property/Catastrophe Fraud and Litigation
Whether it’s a large catastrophe (Super Storm Sandy, Hurricane Andrew), a residential fire or commercial burglary, property and casualty carriers face the potential issue of fraud. How do you ferret out the potential fraud separating out the legitimate claims from the questionable? The course is designed to assist claims professionals with recognizing and identifying more complex, nuanced issues relating to property CAT fraud and to develop best practices in the adjustment and investigation of CAT fraud claims. Using as a teaching example a CAT hail claim, the audience will then put theory into practice and learn how to best utilize the claim investigation to detect and investigate fraud, while at all times protecting the carrier and limiting any bad faith exposure.

The participants will engage in more interactive sessions utilizing case studies created from actual SIU cases that will build on what was learned in Level I.
