When asked about the unique risks facing universities in this month’s Inside Risk interview, UNC Chapel Hill’s Steve Kenny says, “Oftentimes, we’re the trailblazer with no map to follow.” We can relate.
As you all can attest, the CLM is always moving forward, clearing trails and forging new paths for others to follow. “Eat our dust,” we say with every new announcement, not with arrogance or hubris—as columnist Barrett Evans cautions against—but rather with the knowledge that CLM’s membership is made up of professionals who are committed to ensuring success in any endeavor.
With that said, we’re taking the wraps off of our latest project. This time next year, you’ll be heading off to college: The CLM Claims College.
Created for industry professionals by industry professionals, the CLM Claims College is divided into three schools, each focused on a specific audience: Claims Management, Professional Lines, and Workers’ Compensation. College faculty includes senior level leaders from both insurance companies and major corporations.
Each school is comprised of multiple levels, and successful completion of all levels in a particular school will earn participants a respected designation, which will become the industry standard for identifying top-notch claims professionals.
The CLM Claims College is designed to help educate and grow the claims profession. Registration opens in early 2013 and will be limited to 500 students per college.
We’re excited. You will be, too.
