“What was your biggest lesson learned in 2012?”

“We continue to see expansion in the use of social media to foster communication between the insurance carriers and defense bar. Nevertheless, I have learned that even with all of the media sites available, face-to-face communication between counsel and the adjuster is more important than ever.”

1. Larry Beemer, National Claim Director, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. CLM Member since 2007.

“The biggest lesson I learned in 2012 was that taking the time and making the effort to force myself out of my comfort zone both professionally and personally paid huge dividends. Continuing to grow is one of the keys to success and happiness.”

2. Lisa Fentress, Esq., Director of Specialty Claims, Marriott International, Inc. CLM Member since 2010.

“When the unexpected is the norm, having the right team in place is critical. This year reaffirmed for law firms and insurers that long-term relationships based on collaboration and respect are key for weathering uncertainty—and growing stronger together through it.”

3. Richard J. Cohen, Managing Partner, Goldberg Segalla. CLM Member since 2007.

“Most important to me is to not be overly reflective but, instead, to focus on the future. Be sure to do what you like to do and enjoy it, do more of it, and keep busy. If you aren’t happy or appreciated, make a change!”

4. Anne L. Blume, Attorney, Meckler Bulger Tilson Marick & Pearson. CLM Member since 2008.
