I was recently honored with the opportunity to participate on a women’s leadership roundtable at the National African-American Insurance Association’s Northeast Insurance Conference in New York. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and I am so grateful to be connected with this tremendous group. At the CLM, we are excited to have the opportunity to collaborate further with this organization and others focused on diverse industry populations.
The CLM was founded with the principles of diversity and inclusion, and that remains an important element of our mission. We strive to always have a diverse lineup of speakers at our events and writers for our publications. While that has always been important to the CLM, we want to do better and we need your help. We’d like to broaden our membership base to make sure we are reaching all industry professionals and outside counsel. Please help us by welcoming your colleagues and those in your network into the CLM. Any of the CLM’s staff will gladly help, and our membership services department is always available to facilitate that process. Contact David Meisner at david.meisner@theclm.org for more.
You can also help us identify diverse individuals by updating your CLM profile online. In the “self identify” section, you can let us know specific demographic information. Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee is also always looking for new, active members to help create and fulfill their initiatives. That committee addresses D&I topics in articles, webinars, and conference sessions. They also help bring diverse speakers and writers to all content created for the CLM membership. If you’re interested in joining the D&I committee, contact Ebony Little at ebony.little@theclm.org.
Enjoy the summer! I hope to see you very soon at one of the many CLM events.
