January 05, 2019
The beginning of a new year is always an exciting time. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the past and make plans for the future. 2019 is one of the most exciting new years for me and for all of us at the CLM. It will be our first full year as an affiliate of The Institutes and as a non-profit organization. We’re tremendously happy about both of those developments because we know how much they will benefit our membership.
We will celebrate all of 2019 as a year of gratitude for our membership. It’s all of you who have built the CLM. Whether you spent nights or weekends writing an article, developing a conference session, planning an event, creating a webinar, organizing a chapter, participating in board meetings, or any of the other many activities our membership has done over the years – THANK YOU! With your passion and dedication, the CLM has grown to a membership of more than 45,000 and one that we think you’ll agree is the most engaged professional association in the industry.
In 2019, we’re also renewing our focus on litigation management, which is the foundation the CLM. We are planning a Litigation Management Symposium to be held in October in Chicago, preceding the Litigation Management Institute. We are very excited about this new event.
This is also a year for exciting new developments at the CLM. We’ll be launching a CLM Young Professionals group this year as we extend our focus to fostering the career development of young professionals and work to encourage people to join our industry. We’ll also be rolling out other initiatives during the year all aimed at contributing to the growth and stability of our industry and supporting our membership.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you all during 2019 and the years to come.
