New Year, New Columns

Claims Management welcomes new columnists poised to provide focused insight in crucial areas.

We start 2016 with several new columns, which I’m excited to introduce. The first, “Finding Fault,” launches in this issue. This bi-monthly column focuses on subrogation and perfectly illustrates the CLM ideal of collaboration, since each piece will be contributed by a member or fellow who also is a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP). I’ve worked with NASP nearly 10 years on other projects, and I can say confidently that it’s an extraordinarily well-run organization of 3,000 members who take the education and training of insurance claims professionals, litigators, experts, and other service providers as seriously as we do. The association’s founding president, Jeffrey Baill, introduces the column on page 16, so be sure to check it out.

In subsequent issues, we will introduce other new columnists to our stable of writers. “Next-Gen Acumen” will launch in February and will run monthly moving forward.Claims  It will take a look at emerging trends and technologies in claims departments, and will be written by Strategy Meets Action’s Karen Furtado and CaseGlide’s CEO Wesley Todd. “Building It Better,” premieres in March 2016 and is a restoration and remediation-focused quarterly column that discusses construction defects, innovative technology usage, and evolving standards and building codes. “Round and Round” also will launch in March 2016 and will take a quarterly look at losses dealing with at least four wheels.

I hope you’ll welcome our new writers for 2016!
