Giving back at CLM’s biggest event.

Like all CLM conferences, this year’s annual was not a “sit in the back of the room” kind of event. Most educational sessions were held in roundtable formats that were designed to be interactive and encourage a sharing of experiences, questions, and lessons learned.

In between the hard work, attendees also played hard, taking part in unique social and networking events like the CLM State Fair (pig races!) and the inaugural CLM Music Festival.

But something that isn’t always mentioned is the way that CLM gives back to the communities it visits each year. In Nashville, hundreds registered to volunteer at several non-profit organizations throughout the city. Those who participated prepared and served food for Nashville Rescue Mission, which provides food, clothing, shelter, and recovery programs to the homeless; improved the facilities at Saddle Up!, a non-profit therapeutic riding program for children with disabilities; and tagged and helped organize donations at Graceworks Ministries, a general support organization for those who need food, clothing, or financial assistance.

Those who chose to compete in CLM’s athletic options also helped give back. Funds raised from the golf outing at Gaylord Springs Golf Links and the tennis tournament at Centennial Tennis Center went to the CLM Foundation, which made a donation to The Honor Foundation, a “unique transition institute created exclusively for Navy SEALs and the U.S. Special Operations community.” It provides professional development to help these soldiers continue to realize their maximum potential during and after their service careers.

Collaboration and giving back is what CLM is all about, and we put our money where our minds are. Looking forward to Houston in 2018!
