December 15, 2014
It’s a wrap for another year of Claims Management, and while a bit of celebration seems in order, we’re not ones to rest on our laurels. Here’s a sneak peek of what we have in store for these pages in 2015.
One request I’ve heard and heeded is the call for more bad faith coverage—and with good reason. These actions can be expensive as heck to defend, and they have the potential to wreck the trust so essential in maintaining the entire purpose of our industry. We jump start our coverage in this issue with our bad faith supplement, which coincides with CLM’s Bad Faith Conference in early December. In 2015, we’ll ramp up our coverage, featuring several new columnists who will not only focus on strategies for diffusing these toxic torts, but also examine how to avoid them altogether with good faith initiatives.
I’m also proud to promote two of our regular writers to contributing editors. Matthew J. Smith, Smith, Rolfes & Skavdahl LPA, and Christopher Fusco, Callahan & Fusco LLC, have been responsible for some of 2014’s most compelling reads. Like all good authors, they write what they know (which is a lot), and they consistently provide practical skills and knowledge in a highly readable fashion. I can’t wait to see what they produce in 2015. Having seen a glimpse of what they have in store, you should feel the same, too.
As always, a big thank you goes to you, our CLM family. Your dedication to making this the preeminent insurance claims management resource is always appreciated. Have a happy holiday and a wonderful New Year.
