Taking Notice

I’ve talked a lot about ClaimVets the past few months, but I’m not the only one impressed by the initiative. The program CLM created to help veterans kick start a career in claims has been given an enthusiastic thumb’s up by a trio of folks easily recognized by their first names: Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea.

Regardless of your political affiliation, the Clinton Global Initiative’s (CGI) approval of ClaimVets is another mark of distinction for a program still in its infancy but steadily notching successes. Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, CGI “convenes global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.”

As it turns out, CGI has a lot in common with the goals of our own organization. Much like the CLM, CGI “facilitates action by helping members connect, collaborate, and make effective and measurable commitments to action. It drives action through inspiration, networking, knowledge building, and collaboration.”

Sound familiar? Think of all the amazing educational and networking opportunities available at CLM’s local, regional, and national events. Consider the knowledge shared each month in these pages and at bimonthly CLM webinars, whose content is driven by collaboration. Look at the Claims College, an amazing example of knowledge building in a “for us, by us” atmosphere of shared learning.

Driving action through inspiration, networking, knowledge building, and collaboration is what the CLM is all about, and we’re excited that others are taking notice.
