Carlos Fernandez
Attorney, Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP
In the dynamic world of insurance defense, Carlos Fernández’s unconventional journey, advocacy prowess, and relentless pursuit of impactful moments make him a standout choice. He began his career practicing in family law, and then pivoted to prosecution. After honing his trial and organizational skills, and receiving a fortuitous phone call during a morning train ride, Fernández took a job at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and has not looked back since.
“That’s just how my career has been,” says Fernández, "seizing each opportunity that comes my way." An avid storyteller, he prides himself on bringing his investigation and advocacy skills into the civil world. When asked about a career-defining moment, Fernández instead defined his legal career by the moments he uncovered facts that led to results. Fernández utilizes his experiences in family law and prosecution to find beneficial details and facts for his clients.
Fernández’s efforts have earned him numerous awards and recognition. He possesses a drive to further his knowledge and hone his skills—he has completed the Georgia Bar’s YLD Leadership Academy, the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Cultivating Hispanic Leadership Institute, and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association’s Trial & Mediation Academy. And, although new to CLM, Fernández has already completed Level 1 in Claims College’s School of Casualty Claims.
A Cuban-Panamanian transplant, Fernández is also a phenom in the Georgia Hispanic community. Aside from representing Spanish-speaking clients in legal matters, Fernández provides Hispanic business owners with valuable insurance and legal information. Fernández is a legal force and community advocate who strives to epitomize excellence in his legal career.
