Sitar Bhatt
Managing Partner, Scottsdale and Seattle, Tyson & Mendes LLP
Sitar Bhatt interviewed for an opportunity at Tyson & Mendes in 2016. “They told me, ‘We want this to be a place where you grow professionally and…personally,’ and that’s what happened,” he says.
Bhatt became partner in 2020, the Arizona branch managing partner in 2022, and the Seattle branch managing partner in 2024. His effective leadership style has allowed him to seamlessly manage the two offices despite their geographical distance, and, on the job, Bhatt has developed innovative ways to drive down damages in complex cases.
“I employ the proven Nuclear Verdicts Defense Methods and maximize the effectiveness by showing I care. By ‘care,’ I mean developing the case to show what amount in damages, if appropriate, to be awarded will be considered justice for the plaintiff, not some arbitrary amount being driven by an outside interest/party.”
Another role he plays at the firm is chair of its Young Professionals Group. “I like to invite those attorneys and even staff who are more seasoned and have experience because I think it’s important for…the young attorneys to hear from the…veteran attorneys,” he explains. “But I also think it’s important for the seasoned attorneys to hear from the young attorneys about the challenges and issues that they’re facing.” Bhatt defines his interest in mentoring as “helping people realize their full potential…and providing them with words of encouragement to continue on the path [toward] whatever success may be for them.”
Bhatt also has a passion for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, authoring articles and speaking on the topic in a variety of venues.
Within CLM, Bhatt has spoken at conferences and webinars on topics such as Nuclear Verdicts, millennial and Gen Z jurors, empowering young professionals, and mediation strategies.
